Kelly and Company have been retained as a framework supplier since April 2011 on this major Big Lottery funded development project, partnered by British Waterways, Falkirk Council and Central Scotland Forest Trust, due to open Spring 2013.
With a remit to support the Head of Business Development and the wider team as required, we have been tasked with several projects to date.
1. Commercial Development strategy – research and recommendation of four tier investment strategy
K&Co were asked to investigate and assess what viable income generating propositions could be derived from key marker points across the site. Covering the delivery of retail, food and drink retail and leisure and entertainment pursuits, research would focus on small businesses and enterprise groups operating in the central belt, whose product reflected the ethos adopted by The Helix, in encouraging healthy outdoor pursuits and enjoying locally sourced and produced products. From interviewing prospective commercial partners, to benchmarking similar attractions across the UK and Europe, our recommendations presented options for a modest to full scale visitor experience and a four tier investment level for the group’s consideration.
2. Local business and community engagement – advertising campaign
This outreach campaign targeted local residents and small businesses interested in becoming involved in enterprise opportunities on the site. K&Co created the design brief and managed of the creative process through concept to final execution.
We also helped with the development of a range of branded Helix products for retail.thehelix.co.uk
